Please join us for a free, jointly-sponsored evening of cocktails and film discussions on Thursday night, April 29th, 2010 from 6-8 PM at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law. Whether you are young or simply young-at-heart, the Young Professionals Division of the Copyright Society of the USA and the New York State Bar Association's Entertainment, Arts and Sports Law Section are excited to invite you to come, network and hear from some experts in the film industry. CopyRight and Risk in Film Practice

This panel will provide a look into business and copyright aspects of the film production, finance and distribution. Topics may include mitigation of production and distribution risk, chain-of-title, errors and omissions insurance, and determination of copyright infringement damages. The panel may also address the controversy surrounding the proposed Cantor Exchange which, if approved by federal regulators, will provide a platform for trading of derivatives based on domestic box office receipts.
