Summaries of New York Court of Appeals Decisions

The New York Court of Appeals handed down these decisions last Thursday:

Lennard v. Mendik Realty Corp.

In suit alleging a slip on fall on loose floor tiles, summary judgment for defendants is reversed as defendants failed to establish that they lacked constructive notice of the allegedly defective floor tiles as a matter of law.

Rosenberg v. Metlife, Inc.

Statements made by an employer on a National Association of Securities Dealers employee termination notice are subject to an absolute privilege in a defamation lawsuit.
