Governor Cuomo Signs Legislation to Strengthen Oversight of Pet Dealers in New York State

On January 9th, Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo signed a bill that enables local municipalities to enact and enforce their own laws governing commercial dog breeding facilities.

This piece of legislation is definitely a step in the right direction. It will be interesting to see which municipalities enact their own laws governing pet dealers in the next year. Something that we should keep an eye on.
