Google provides many free services that law firms should consider integrating into their systems, but Google Voice is likely the most useful. Google Voice assigns a unique local phone number to all user accounts with automatic call forwarding to all your phone numbers simultaneously, an excellent visual voicemail system accessible anywhere, automatic transcription of those voicemails delivered to your email inbox, a simple texting system that awards your firm the ability to accept client texts, free calls in the U.S. and Canada, cheap calling rates outside the U.S., automatic screening of all unknown calls, and much more. With a Google Voice account in place, your secretary can answer texts from the office computer, you could receive office calls when out of state, and you could check your firm voicemails from your smartphone Google Voice application.
