Making A Career Comeback

"Making A Career Comeback" (April - June)

The Special Committee on Lawyers in Transition presents "Making a Career Comeback" - a five part series geared towards attorneys re-entering the workforce. Each program will be held at Mitchell Silberberg & Knupp, LLP (Office of Committee Chair, Lauren J. Wachtler, Esq.) located at 12 East 49th Street, Tower 49, 30th Floor, New York, New York.

The programs will run from 12:00 p.m - 2:00 p.m.

Lunch will be provided. The programs are free of charge, but pre-registration is required. Seating is limited.

April 30, 2008 – “Comeback Lawyers: The Path for Lawyers to Return to Practice”
During this program, you will learn the status and emerging trends about re-entry in the legal profession and get an overview of what you need to do to ensure a successful return. The program will cover the range of issues re-entry lawyers face including building confidence, evaluating your strengths and skills, resume review, assessing employer needs, interviewing and interning, networking, economics, work/life balance, family impact, and much more.

This program will cover how and when to negotiate your work/life needs and how to incorporate lifestyle as a factor in pursuing prospective employers. The transition of returning to work, the impact on family and how to effectively delineate lines between work and home to ensure professional and personal success will also be discussed.
