Blog Hiatus July 4-21st

I will be out of the country for the next 2 weeks visiting my son Grant, who is on winter break from the University of Adelaide. As I will have limited access to email during that time, I may not be able to post any new items until after I get back. Rest assured that upon my return, we will be back in action. In the meantime, please feel free to post your comments about some of my more recent blog entries, including judicial salaries, the new IOLA regs or anything that strikes your fancy.

In particular, I hope to hear from members of our House of Delegates who, after attending our recent meeting in Cooperstown, should be able to access the blog and reply with ease!

Linda Markowitz:

I want you to know that someone does read your message in the State Bar News. Just want to comment on your President's Message in the State Bar News and how proud I am to have a President who cares about the unrespresented. I hope that getting additonal funding for legal services for the poor and those unable to afford representation becomes a priority for the organization.

Kate Madigan:

Thanks, Linda. And rest assured that access to justice, particularly for our most vulnerable - our children, our elderly and our poor - is and will remain an Association priority.

And thanks also for your comments about my President's Message in the Bar Journal. It is a challenge to keep the column to one page (the one on Access went a wee bit over) but I think a one pager is more likely to be read by our members.
